| Appearance |
"Nurse shark"-like appearance with well developed barbels. Spiracles present. Mouth ahead of eyes. Origin of first dorsal fin over the pelvic fin bases. First dorsal fin is bigger than second one. Short precaudal tail with a moderately long caudal fin.

Grey, with a white ventral surface and dark saddles. Saddles seem to fade with age.

A little-known, bottom-living species found over the continental shelf in inshore waters.
